Let's move beyond the belief that we are simply subject to the whims of external events in the world. It's essential we come together to reject ideas like Astrology, the influence of Solar Flares, and the notion that the Moon has an effect on our minds.

‍

Let's also put aside the belief in beings from other dimensions with whom we can communicate and receive messages.

‍

These are illusory images you have made real through the projection of meaning you have given them.

‍

The beliefs associated with the Spiritual New Age often amount to little more than spiritual nonsense, reinforcing a sense of separation. These popular, trendsetting ideas are simply outdated approaches to navigating the dream state and will not guide you toward awakening from it.

‍

The truth is singular and unchanging. You must fully embrace this Course or not at all.

‍

Jesus is quite clear on this point when he states:

‍

"⁴This course will be believed entirely or not at all. ⁵For it is wholly true or wholly false, and cannot be but partially believed. ⁶And you will either escape from misery entirely or not at all."

(T-22.II.7:4-6)

‍

As Jesus conveys the message of the Course, it remains resolute, as illustrated in the following quotes:

‍

"³The truth is true. ⁴Nothing else matters, nothing else is real, and everything beside it is not there."

(T-14.II.3:3-4)

"²Truth does not vacillate; it is always true."

(T-9.VIII.7:2)

‍

While angels are mentioned 11 times in A Course in Miracles, they mainly serve as a metaphor for God's thoughts. You can think of them as projections from the right mind onto a screen, yet they may also reinforce the notion of spiritual specialness, which upholds the belief in separation.

‍

Angels could be described as a temporary source of comfort during times when the mind resists the Holy Spirit. It's important not to take them out of the context of the Course and turn them into a special image that replaces the Holy Spirit.

‍

Doing so places them above the fundamental act of joining with the Holy Spirit in your mind. The Holy Spirit and Jesus should always be your primary point of contact in your desire to know God above everything else.

‍

Please take note of how Jesus portrays the Holy Spirit in the following quote:

‍

"The Holy Spirit mediates between illusions and the truth. ²Since He must bridge the gap between reality and dreams, perception leads to knowledge through the grace that God has given Him, to be His gift to everyone who turns to Him for truth.

³Across the bridge that He provides are dreams all carried to the truth, to be dispelled before the light of knowledge. ⁴There are sights and sounds forever laid aside. ⁵And where they were perceived before, forgiveness has made possible perception’s tranquil end."

(W-pII.7.1:1–5:4)

A key objective of our Course is to cultivate a trusting relationship with the Holy Spirit, rather than relying on an angelic figure that may appear in your dream, no matter how comforting it might seem.

‍

I invite you to focus on making your one true goal centred around God.

‍

I’m not interested in hearing spiritual guides, seeing visions of angels, or predicting the future. I have no desire to connect with the deceased, channel star seeds, perceive auras, or develop psychic abilities.

‍

For me, the only goal is God.

‍

In my twenties, I had experiences where something was attempting to come in to speak; this seemed to happen where the internal and external fell away.

‍

A portal opened temporarily, and my body disappeared. I became aware that it wanted communication, whatever it was.

‍

As soon as it began to happen, I shut it down. According to A Course In Miracles, those who develop psychic abilities transcend the limits of communication that the world places are becoming more natural.

‍

“⁷Who transcends these limits in any way is merely becoming more natural. ⁸He is doing nothing special, and there is no magic in his accomplishments.”

(M-25.2:7-8)

‍

Diving deeply into A Course In Miracles over several years moved me into an experience of God is in everything I see because God is in my mind, along with experiences of the Holy Spirit amplifying my true nature. In comparison, these earlier experiences from my twenties were very different.

‍

Before the Course, I lived abundantly in suffering, finally bringing me to my knees to a one-pointed focus of only wanting God above all else.

‍

Earlier on, I asked. “Do I want communication with multi-dimensional beings from another timeline, or do I want God?

‍

Do I want to channel spirit guides, or do I want God?

‍

Do I want to be bombarded by dead people trying to get messages through, or do I want God?

‍

As a young adult in meditation retreats, there was always that one student at question time who would share excitedly the psychic phenomena they were experiencing.

‍

“I see lights, angels, auras, and visions.”

‍

The Meditation Teacher responded.

‍

“Don’t worry; this too shall pass.”

‍

This is a quick way of saying continue to remain focused on your goal of meditation. These experiences are not evidence of progress. If anything, they can become a hindrance to progress.

‍

In my experience, the Holy Spirit doesn’t use words; it’s an intimate experience apart from words.

‍

If you ever doubt whether it’s the Holy Spirit in your mind speaking or if it is something else, the very fact that you have doubt means it is not the Holy Spirit.

‍

There is no doubt when you have the experience of the Holy Spirit in your mind.

‍

When I had a psychic experience recently, I knew it was not the Holy Spirit in my mind speaking because of the very fact that it used words.

‍

When the multi-dimensional being came knocking again, I immediately gave it to the Holy Spirit and said.

‍

“Take this, and you use it for your Holy Purposes. I give my psychic ability to you to be used under your guidance and direction. I am here only to be Truly Helpful.”

‍

The following quote from A Course In Miracles, in the section, Are Psychic Powers Desirable, encourages us to hand over to Him any perceived psychic abilities to be used under His guidance.

‍

“²Given to the Holy Spirit and used under His direction, they are valuable teaching aids.”

(M-25.3:2)

‍

Following this surrender, the following thoughts entered.

‍

'This image in my mind is a thought I have made; above all else, I want God.

‍

Nothing I see, I perceive or see, internal or external means anything; this multi-dimensional being I am experiencing does not mean anything.'

‍

If we remain faithful to the teachings of A Course In Miracles, if our only goal is truly God, we will not let these experiences delay us.

‍

We must see them for the illusions that they are and be vigilant only for God and his Kingdom.

‍

Let us continue to have the tenacity and certainty of Spirit on our journey of no distance to relinquish absolutely everything.

‍

With an open mind and heart, we can then remain receptive to being taught and allow everything to be reinterpreted for us by the Holy Spirit.

‍

If God is your only goal, then Lesson 1 of A Course In Miracles, the very first lesson of our Miracle Program, "Nothing I See Means Anything," encapsulates the teachings almost entirely and highlights the necessity to apply it daily.

‍

Nothing I see holds any real significance; therefore, if you perceive it, you are merely dreaming it.

‍

And from A Course in Miracles:

‍

“⁷Those who have developed “psychic” powers have simply let some of the limitations they laid upon their minds be lifted.

⁸It can be but further limitations they lay upon themselves if they utilize their increased freedom for greater imprisonment.

⁹The Holy Spirit needs these gifts, and those who offer them to Him and Him alone go with Christ’s gratitude upon their hearts, and His holy sight not far behind.”

(M-25.6:7-9)
