Did you know everything you perceive can be infused with the Miracle by bringing every thought to the Light of the Holy Spirit?
All that is needed is willingness.
Even one little thought of God is a game changer when feeling suffocated in the blackness of the ego thought system.
Well, after all, this is A Course in Miracles.
The title of our Book isn't "A Course in Light, Faeries and Butterflies." Or "A Course on How to be A Spiritual Intellectual."
It's Miracles! It's A Course in Miracles, the big guns. So, let's get on with the business of Forgiveness and have some laughs along the way.
Who is with me?
It takes constant vigilance and a suspended way of being in the world where every step taken and every word spoken can be spontaneously surrendered to the Holy Spirit to be embedded in the Light of Truth to be Truly Helpful.
Why else are you here?
To bless the world with your Holiness, of course!
Here's some inspiration with Jesus from the workbook Lesson 37: My Holiness Blesses the World.
"This idea contains the first glimmerings of your true function in the world, or why you are here.
²Your purpose is to see the world through your own Holiness. ³Thus are you and the world blessed together.
⁴No one loses; nothing is taken away from anyone; everyone gains through your holy vision."
(W-37.1:1-6)
With the help of the Holy Spirit, you can choose what you see and how you perceive yourself, people, and circumstances. Seeing through the lens of the Holy Spirit changes everything.
You either choose the Holy Spirit and ask for help or choose to be allured into the ego's portal of hell; in the Course, Jesus calls this the attraction to guilt.
And into the eye of ego's suffering, you go down, groping around in darkness, submerged in a murky swamp of agony. Simultaneously, heavy limbs and your back nearly broke from the burden of guilt. And yet you continue to wade through the ego's murky soup, powerless, believing you are void of choice.
Have You suffered enough already?
This is what Jesus has to say about your addiction to suffering.
"The sick attraction of guilt must be recognized for what it is.
²For having been made real to you, it is essential to look at it clearly, and by withdrawing your investment in it, to learn to let it go.
³No one would choose to let go what he believes has value.
⁴Yet the attraction of guilt has value to you only because you have not looked at what it is, and have judged it completely in the dark.
⁵As we bring it to light, your only question will be why it was you ever wanted it.
⁶You have nothing to lose by looking open-eyed, for ugliness such as this belongs not in your holy mind.
⁷This host of God can have no real investment here."
(T-15.VII.3:1-7)
Wow! Such a powerful instruction from Jesus on how to let go of our investment in suffering.
Now, let's sneak peek at what the dream may look like for some.
You wake up in the morning bombarded by a speeding train of thoughts: loud, fear-based, anxious thoughts, dead thoughts talking about absolute nonsense.
Firstly, get the body to the bathroom to relieve the bladder while the noise inside your head is constantly chattering away.
"Coffee, coffee, coffee, have I got milk?" Scratch of the head.
"Ah! I have to feed the dog, goodness me, look at the dishes from last night; oh No! There is dust on the bathroom louvers. I will get those cleaned later."
Then you take a breath and look out the window to the world outside.
"Wow! I am still here in this body; here we go again."
Imagine being aware of your first thought upon waking before it takes place. Rather than being the passenger on the speeding train of thoughts, you can be the one standing outside on the platform.
When I awoke the other day, there was no one talking inside my head, only silence. I felt this abstract sense of something coming from the right. So I turned to look there, and what I observed rolling in like a wave brewing in slow motion was my first thought of the day coming into awareness.
At first, I did not know what it was; what is that?
What was outstanding about this experience was that it was happening outside of me, the awareness that I am. Secondly, it seemed to have an energy of its own; there was no one thinking that thought or making it happen.
Thirdly, there was a choice as to whether I would join with the thought and go with it or continue to observe it and it would disappear, like a wave crashing back into the ocean, so I just decided to look at it and not join with it, and it simply vanished back into where it came from.
As soon as you wake up, see how long it takes to think of God.
It hit home to me the importance of strengthening my willingness upon awakening to join with the Holy Spirit as soon as possible and asking for this to become my default throughout the day.
To be a host to God and not to the ego is a choice.
Choose to be a host to God.
Let your first thought for the day be of God.
Allow your dream figure to walk and move in this world in constant prayer in suspended vigilance only for God and his Kingdom.
Amen.
